Our story so far
Oli+Ve (pronounced Ollie and Vee) founder, Suzanne Davidson, lives by the mantra, “You are what you eat”, having been raised by a mother who was a registered Dietician. Her upbringing and appreciation for quality foods helped her recognize the opportunity for a successful business after visiting an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting shop while attending the wedding of her best friend’s son, in 2010.
Oli+Ve was the first store of its kind in the Atlanta area and is located in Historic Roswell. While most of her training and expertise is derived through research, first-hand experience with the oils and vinegars she carries in her shop, and information provided by her suppliers, Suzanne also recommends the book Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil, by Tom Mueller, for those who wish to learn more about the history and business of olive oil.
Her favorite part of the business is sharing her love of olive oils and vinegars, and the unexpected ways in which they can be used. Her customers include chefs, foodies, and people who don’t like to cook. She hosts special events, classes, and tasting parties to educate customers in the use and enjoyment of olive oils. She is also frequently found hosting off-site events for groups and organizations.
A graduate of Florida State University, Suzanne considers every day an opportunity to learn and continues to educate herself in the products carried in her shop and the industry as a whole. She enjoys reading, art, music, cooking and maintains a flower garden, herb garden, and Little Free Bookhouse beside her Roswell shop. Suzanne is the mother of three grown children. They are most helpful with marketing input and keeping her “up-to-date” with ever changing technology and one of the three helps to maintain the shop’s social media endeavors.
In this fast and furious day and age, she hopes that the products you find at Oli+Ve will encourage you to bring family and friends back to the table where you unwind, encourage, talk, listen, support and create many good memories.
We are purveyors of the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) from around the world. We take pride in the freshness and the quality of our olive oils and enjoy and encourage questions and as much tasting as your palate will allow. You will taste Single Varietal Extra Virgin Olive Oils, flavored extra virgin olive oils that have been fused (with the actual pepper, citrus fruit or herb) or infused with natural flavors (using the extract or essence of)–never manmade ingredients– and a selection of Gourmet Oils.
Our aged Balsamics include a Traditional aged up to 18 years. We carry close to 30 different balsamics, both darks and whites, of the highest quality balsamic condimentos. Made in the traditional solera style with no added sugars, no thickeners and no caramel coloring (darks).
Along with our featured oils and vinegars we also carry imported and locally handcrafted items. We have pastas imported from Italy, gluten free pastas, olives imported from Spain, gourmet food items, soaps and beauty products made with olive oil, flavored salts, rubs and blends, handcrafted olive wood pieces from France, bread boards and dipping bowls, locally made items, and so much more!
